Common medications prescribed for medical gender affirming care at Reza Health:

Testosterone is commonly prescribed for individuals assigned female at birth who are seeking masculinizing hormone therapy. It helps develop masculine secondary sex characteristics such as facial hair growth, deepening of the voice, and increased muscle mass.

Estrogen is often prescribed for individuals assigned male at birth who are seeking feminizing hormone therapy. It promotes the development of feminine secondary sex characteristics such as breast growth, redistribution of body fat, and softening of the skin.

Anti-androgens, such as spironolactone or finasteride, may be prescribed in combination with estrogen for individual’s assigned male at birth who are seeking feminizing hormone therapy. These medications help suppress the effects of testosterone and promote feminization.

Unfortunately, many gender affirming people fail to get the basic health care they need because of discrimination or negative experiences they’ve had with health care providers. This puts them at greater risk of developing chronic health problems.

Our providers understand the unique health needs of gender affirming individuals and provide the care necessary to maintain and improve health and well-being, such as:

Your annual physical is the most important medical visit of the year and the one that keeps you healthy and well. This comprehensive exam evaluates your current state of health and risk of future health problems. Finding health problems during the early stages may prevent long-term complications.

Sick care manages those unexpected illnesses and injuries. We can provide the services you need to get better faster.
