- When should I get tested for STDs?
If you’re sexually active, you should get tested for STDs. You shouldn’t wait until you have symptoms. When you come in for an STD consultation, You will be asked about your sexual activity and symptoms, if any, and your medical history will be reviewed.
Based on the information gathered, we’ll determine what STDs to test for by a blood, urine and/or swab test. Your provider will explain when you can expect results from your STD testing and the preventive steps you need to take to protect yourself and your sexual partner.
